Several of my friends are Granny, including my friend who became a grandmother in her 40's.
I did think it was a bit ''old lady' sounding for someone so young!

I like Granny, Gem. It's what I would have preferred, and it's what I called my own grandmother. I think it sounds nice and cosy and comforting somehow.

Your young 'Granny' friend perhaps liked the fact that she is so young to be called Granny. Something along the lines of she's still a glamorous rock chick but also a grandmother - it's a nice contrast.

I’m Nanma to one family and a few variations of Grandma to the other family. Jokingly they call me ‘old woman’ too, because I tell them I’m old when I can’t/won’t do something like trampolining etc.😬

Grauntie you surprise me. Here I am picturing you doing double somersaults. Going by your Avatar...somersaults with your dress & pinney tucked into your long, knee length bloomers.😂😂

How kind of you to say, Oma! I feel better all ready. Nana that would be hysterically funny! I could charge money. I will get bloomers and take up trampolining. Will you join me? 🤣

Grauntie has that avatar because, should she ever decide to meet up with us and wants to chicken out at the last minute we will have no idea who she is, so she can just slip away unnoticed
