Have just booked a two day, one night adventure to Chessington World of Adventures with the three grandchildren. Last time we went was on husbsand's 60th birthday when we only took the boys as Sadie was only a small baby. Although the boys enjoyed themselves it wasn't exactly as I had booked as I expected a separate room for the children which we didn't get, we got a bed settee which was not even made up and when they came to do it the mattress was so dirty I refused to let the children sleep on it so the hotel had to replace it. Also in the booking I was told that we would have a view of the park. Well you did if you were either seven feet tall or stood on a table!
This time I have made absolutely sure. We are in a themed room with a separate attached room with TV and wi fi for the children. We get two days park entry. In the evening there is an animal show and a film for the children, we will also get to go out into the safari park. In the morning we will get to go into the theme park an hour before everyone else which will mean less queuing for the children. There is a swimming pool as well. We have to get Joe and Sadie back by 2pm, parents are going to a christening but they want the kids there in the afternoon. By the time we have had breakfast, checked out, been back to the park for a couple of hours, had lunch and driven back (it is not far from us) it will be perfect timing.
It is £460 for all of us. We did think about "Glamping" which I think the children would like but it is an extra £300! So that was a big no. We have decided to give the children a set amount of money each, amount not decided, so they can spend it on what they want and not be pestering us for ice-creams etc. all the time! Dinner is not included but breakfast is.
Looking forward to it. We don't see them quite as much recently, for no particular reason so it will be nice to spend a couple of days with them.
