A day at the wildlife park

Tomorrow OH, my eldest daughter, both of my grandchildren and I are going to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Hopefully we will have a good day!
OH and I will pick GD up at 10.30, then meet DD and GS at their house. GS is always terribly excited doing anything with his cousin

    I will report back.

      Thank you
The weather could be better, but hopefully it will improve, or maybe has already over there!

Gem - hopefully having his big cousin there will help GS to stay calm. I hope you have a lovely day, whatever the weather throws at you.

I've only just read this post. I went there with DD2 & GS this afternoon from about 2-4pm. I've never seen the Park so busy. It was of course due to the Alice in Wilderland event. I thought the characters costumes were terrific. Shame Gem because I'd have looked out for you had I known. The rain was dreadful this morning, that's why we waited until after lunch when the sun came out. Hoping you all enjoyed your day.

Oh Nana, what a pity, I would love to have met you!

It was so busy because of the Alice thing, but also a Living Social offer, which my daughter used .

It was still wet and miserable when we arrived, but fared up and ended up sunny. I'm afraid it was one of grandsons worst behaved days. He loves being with his cousin, he had a wonderful fun time, but was constantly whining, having tantrums, running off, and pushing the bounderies in all ways. He is so bright, cute and lovable, but when he's like that we would happily sell him!! We all went in our car, which has more room in the back than DDs. DD said that if she was in her own car she would have left and taken him home, she really had had enough..

We ended the day with ice creams in the sunshine, before heading back to the car. GS was, for some inexplicable reason bought one with a flake and strawberry sauce on. GD said to me that she didnt think GS deserved an ice cream at all as he had been so naughty, with which I heartily agreed
It was just one battle and tantrum after another with him all day. Not his best day

GD 6, is always a good girl anyway, and has reached the stage where she enjoys to read all the information about the animals, and listen to the talks. As we were there at least she was able to, even when her cousin was misbehaving. Not as much as she would have done if he hadn't been there though. I want to take her on her own again soon.

I feel so sorry for DD.We can all see that some of this is her own making, but it's hard to witness. She adores him, is patient and gentle, he strong and willful and wants to be in charge. No one ends up happy.

We did enjoy our day - but it could have been better!!!

I forgot to say, after we dropped DD and GS home we stayed for tea with GD, DD and SIL, and had a nice time

Poor GD started with a tummy bug at 5am and was sick for several hours though. She's up now, according to DD, but pale. Poor lamb!
