Trip with granddaughter to the cat cafe!

My granddaughter had asked if we could go to the cat cafe, having heard that DD3 and I had been together. I said we could, and then came lockdown!
The cafe is now open again, with all the right measures in place. GD and I are booked in for Thursday afternoon I will report back.

Gem - I'm sure both you and GD will have a lovely time with all those kitties.

Oma - a dog cafe sounds fun! Although I think Eva would be too excited by all the other dogs. We do take her into pubs though, and there are often other dogs coming and going. Generally she'll just lie under the table - unless someone tries to make a fuss of her, then she wants to be best friends for life with them.

            We had a lovely time.
Although they have cat of their own GD was captivated by all the cats. She is gentle and quietly spoken, so perfect for cats. We both agreed her little brother, naturally loud and exuberant, would have had them running for cover By the time he is 10 (the youngest age allowed into the cafe) he may have quietened down!
GD had had her phone confiscated due to not getting off hers quickly enough for karate class last night. I lent her mine to take photos and videos, which she enjoyed doing.

She had a large slice of Red Velvet Cake which she planned to take half of home, but kept digging in and eventually finished it
The hour went quickly and we overstayed by at least 10 minutes due to GD having a couple of 'last looks round'!

We then went to Claire's Accessories, beloved of pre teen girls. It felt weird in town as OH and I haven't been in amongst the shops since lockdown, but it seemed mean to hurry her back to the car straight away.
We don't get much time just the two of us, so it was lovely to be with her. We were told the beginning or end of the day are when the cats are most lively, so we plan to return one late afternoon, maybe after school.
I drove her home so we got more time to chat.

Gem - what a lovely time you both had. GD is looking so grown up, and I'm sure she is very good company, too. I'm sure the cats enjoyed all the gentle attention.

My idea of a perfect trip. Only I haven’t got a granddaughter. GS 1 is besotted with his cat though. Trouble is, it would mean a dangerous visit to town. One day perhaps.

Sum1 - so many areas are still 'no go', aren't they! But I'm sure you and your GS1 will enjoy a trip to a cat cafe at some time.
