I had a wonderful day today with my little grandson. We went to The Cass Sculpture Park at Goodwood in Chichester. There were many huge and fascinating sculptures set in a 26 acre site. We took a picnic and the weather was very kind. I am feeling quite tired now with aching legs, but it was worth it.
Always face the sunshine and the shadows fall behind you.
Avo - I hope it stays fine for you all. Lovely to have an unexpected extra day with two of them, but I'm sure you'll be ready to put your feet up at the end of it.
Sunshine - what a lovely day. I bet both you and your little GS had a marvellous time. No wonder your legs are aching if you walked round all 26 acres.

GS1 and I had a trip to the cinema this week. Heavy rain was forecast and he had had a busy few days so something quieter and indoors was a good idea.
I gave him the choice of the 4 suitable films showing. He chose Angry Birds 2 (never having seen the original Angry Birds film) I did not relish this but actually I have seen worse. It was quite funny, and it was good to share a film with him.
He is a real chancer though! As I don't take them to the cinema often I allow them some Pix and Mix, that true rip off amongst sweets. I do take a drink with me though, I'm not that reckless!
Taking DD2s lead, the rule is one sweet for each year of the child's age. Some sweets are much bigger than others (jelly snakes are huge!) so they need to choose wisely.
GS1, however has his own way of thinking. Firstly 'Can I have 7, I have 7, it's only 2 months until I am 7?' OK then. Then 'These are small sweets, 3 is one choice'. And so on.... he ends up with far more sweets than was the original plan!
He has never let me forget the time last year when he and I went into the wrong screen. Twice - we came out and went in again at the other side! He always questions the screen with me now before we go in.
He loved the film, it made him laugh a lot, and once I persuaded him that talking very loudly was not the thing, he was a very good boy, and good company

We went to our local hotel a stately home turned hotel very nice 5 star place this week , they have a maze and couple of lakes plus an adventure walk on the land they own, so had a coffee first and the kids had J20 s but there was a wasp nest close by and it was cordoned off nearby , thought we would be ok but as soon as our drinks arrived the blighters started dive bombing J was terrified and screamed like a girl lol, we moved tables outside 3 times but they followed us, so we had to go inside in the end , the hotel has lots of statues which the twins liked, did our adventure walk brought home lots of nature goodies so then had an afternoon art and craft stuff.
Tuesday I took them swimming all three 😱when we got back to the car park I sat whilst the kids ran about on the nearby cricket field , there is a care home nearby a beautiful place , my grandson asked what it was and I told him it was for old people who couldn’t look after themselves anymore, I commented that I would like to live there if I got to be so old, his comment wasn’t we will visit you , he said will you die in there, talk about reality hitting home , I was speechless must admit he is a bit obsessed with death at the moment 🥴
Qwerty - life is never dull with your GCs. You won't even get any peace in that care home should the day ever come! They'll be dragging you off out swimming, to the park and goodness knows where else!

My GS also Qwerty! Since my beloved cat (who he loved too) died GS1 talks about her having died all the time. He said the other day 'I hope there is a heaven because then I can see Daisy again. And you when you die.Which may not be for a while'!! (Lets hope )

We are taking GD and GS2 to a horse and donkey sanctuary on Friday. GD is horse mad, and little GS loves all animals, so it should be a good day. The weather forecast is good too.
I will write about it afterwards.
