I got her 'my first doll' Gem at Christmas. Her mummy loves the idea of a silver bracelet but doesn't know if they're safe. I don't see why not as she'll not be wearing it all day & night. What do you think?

Hmm, I'm not sure about a bracelet Nana. I'm not overly keen on jewellery on babies but that is just my personal opinion. If her mummy is happy with it, it shouldn't be a problem. Or you could maybe get her a silver bracelet to fit her when she is a little older maybe?
I'm sure you will decide on the right present in the end !

To be honest with you neither am I. I passed Accessorise (or whatever it's called) & there was a tiny girl on her mum's knee having her ears pierced. One of my bugbears I'm afraid. I think it's on a level with child cruelty. Sorry if my opinion annoys anyone.
Going into Town one day next week so I'll just keep my eye open. Thank you ever so much for your suggestions. You're also right in that she is a lucky girl Gem, but fortunately our GRU GC seem to be.

Nana I think you will find that the bracelet will get worn a couple of times then be put to one side ,
Baby's have such chubby hands they don't like a bracelet going over them and make too much fuss ,so Mummy ends up not putting it on
I agree Oma. Going into town this week with her mummy the day before GD's b-day. I'll see if I can tempt her with something else. My DD treasures objects which have emotional attachments so would keep the bracelet safe. When Mum died she asked if she could have her old piano stool. It's 'refurbished' & she uses it daily.
I wonder if it's too late to get a personalised 'box of treasures'? She could keep her little special things then.
