Glamm - I remember in the early 70s moving into a brand new house and the 'rating officer' coming round to inspect it for rateable value. He was listing what added value for rating purposes, eg having a downstairs cloakroom. I really couldn't understand this as we didn't use the facilities any more often just because we had two loos!!
