    workmen in your home....

We are getting a new kitchen at the moment, the first couple of days the kitchen fitter brought his own lunch with him, then he started to nip out, didn't think much of it, but found Mcdonald's packet in my bin and when he went there was his packed lunch still in carrier bag uneaten, then he keeps nipping home for his lunch, i did offer him a sandwich the beginning of the week but he said he was popping home, so everyday he pops home, i keep him topped up with coffee and biscuits, but just wander do you keep your workmen fed..

I really don't like workman in my home, I have to say.
When we do have them though I keep them supplied with tea or coffee and biscuits. I put a few biscuits on a plate each time I make thema drink now, after a double glazing man once emptied my biscuit tin over a day
I certainly don't offer them sandwiches, or anything more substantial than biscuits.

When we had our bathroom done recently we kept the workmen supplied with tea and biscuits. They bought their own lunch a couple of days and sat in their van but mostly they went to the bathroom showroom which is about a 10 minute drive from us and had their lunch there. They were only gone about 45 minutes so only had 30 mins for lunch. But then they were able to leave a bit earlier. I wouldn't offer them food apart from biscuits.

I hater workmen in my home...... Don't want them ever again as long as I live! I will usually offer a cup of tea or coffee and may be some biscuits but don't want to offer anything anymore after the last couple of months.

We always provide tea/coffee and biscuits. When we had the hall and stairs decorated I made them dinner, but that was because it was our nephew and his boss.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Pearl don't feel sorry for me please as I feel plenty sorry for myself. I was away for three days this week to get away from it and came back yesterday. I wish I hadn't. I walked in there and it is so awful I wanted to cry (again). I am trying very hard to be a grown up about it but really I want to scream and shout and yell and stamp my feet but in the end if I did that it will not change anything. Glad your kitchen fit is going to plan. If I thought a big biscuit barrel would make things better I would buy a ginormous one believe me.......

OH is in charge when we have workmen in the house. I generally make myself scarce. He's very good at keeping them topped up with tea and coffee - he likes to keep an eye on what they're doing! If it's someone we know, or a big job, like when we had our bathroom refitted last year, I'll offer sandwiches or something, but more often than not they come with a packed lunch.

We always do coffee and chocolate biscuits for our window cleaners. They're really nice and do a good job - and they will do 'extras' - like last week they fixed a loose tile on the roof, and they clean the outside of the greenhouse when I ask.

I offer tea/coffee & biscuits. Because I'm the one hat's home all day I normally check up on what they're doing. The last workmen we had worked outside laying chippings below the front window. They said they'd finished but I pointed out the slabs weren't level. He apologised & put it right. I'd say I can tell some but not others. Funny eh?
