    Coming round in the morning

Hi this week I have slept in like I used to, as babies are away now since the twins have been looked after by us of course I am up most mornings by 7 am and early other dys to catch up on cleaning and shopping but this week I have been ages coming round I can't face the shower for about an hour have to have my coffee and breakfast half an hour later. I just can't get going and am a little grumpy too, what about you are you up and at it on a morning or a slow mover ?

Oh, I'm a slow coach in the morning! I drive OH mad. She would love me to be like Oma, up and out at the crack of dawn! She is, luckily, as happy as I am to stay in bed with a cuppa til 9.30 or 10 if we have no commitments, but if we are going out, she wants to get up and go.Me, I like to get up, eventually, have breakfast in my PJ's do a little online stuff, then go for my shower and dress. No rushing

Qwerty, on days you don't have the babies, I recommend the morning cuppa in bed, with book or internet, and slow start!

It's the dark mornings I think , I know I get up early but some days I don't want too but I'm so used to being up I can't lie there , I do need a glass of cold water and 5 minutes to myself before I can get motivated but once I do I'm quick at getting sorted . When we looked after the boys I never went past 6 am I needed that time like Qwerty to get everything done before they arrived at 7 , Brian still gets up about 5 am he's like me not a one for lying in , mind you you can guarantee if I have to be up early I want to sleep a little longer and feel sluggish but the mornings I could have a lie in I'm up with the larks , madness isn't it ☺

I just get up when I wake .... except on the day we have gs's, then we have to set the alarm. I always sleep later in the winter because the mornings are so dark.

I think it's one of the true luxuries of being retired - not having to set the alarm clock! I have to set it on the days I look after GD2, but on other days I get up when I wake up, and like Gem like to potter round in my dressing gown - make a cuppa, come online, maybe even put washing on. I often don't feel like breakfast until 10 o'clock or later.

But sometimes I wish I was a morning person - there's so much more of the day available. Today I had to take Eva for a walk just after 9 am and it was a bright (but cold) sunny day and there was no-one around. It was very peaceful. But I think we should hibernate a little in the winter. I'm sure that's what our ancient ancestors did!

Never have been a morning person but have got into a bad habit of staying up til the early hours and then feel even less like getting up in the morning. I prefer to come to gradually, have a cup of tea and read for a while, then a coffee if OH is around to make me one. Then a shower and breakfast (though has been known to be nearer lunch time). My son actually gets up really early and goes into the office so he can get things done before things get busy! I would rather stay late than do that!

I'm a morning person.usually up about 5.Have a cup of coffee, then an hour on the computer before breakfast, then shower time.Mind you, I go to bed about about 10pm.
Hubby is the opposite, he likes to get up later, and stay up later at night.

Oooo no I hate mornings, more so in winter. When I get up it's between 8.-9am, rarely before 9. I like to come round slowly with no one jabbering in my ear, I usually do some jobs still in my dressing gown. When I'm ready I shower/dress etc the usually walk the dog. I hate work mornings where I have to be up at 6.30 which thankfully isn't often anymore. Hubs is the complete opposite,he's one of those annoying people who get up all bright and cheery Grrrrrrrrrrrr. By the way my sister thinks Im quite the slut doing housework in my dressing gown ye gods.

If I lie-in I feel the morning is running away with me and I've missed half the day! It is hard some days but I know if I don't get up I will regret it.Obviously it's much easier when the mornings are lighter. I'm usually in bed between 10 and 11 pm but I do read for a while or until the book falls on my nose!

Clover - I usually fall asleep reading in bed, too!

LG - housework's housework - it's lucky to get done. If I had to get dressed to do it there'd be no chance!

Neither OH nor I are larks and when we were both working it seemed I was always the one having to keep waking him up and he'd just go back to sleep until I got shouty about it! Such a good example we set our children! But if he needs to get up early now for any reason, he still expects me to get up first and make sure he's awake. I never applied for that job!!!

I don't think I am morning or late night person. It is now 11.22, I am in bed but will probably not turn out the light until 12.00 and then I get up when I feel ready. This has only happened since OH died, he was definitely a morning person. Of course when I went to work I was up by 7am. If I have to be up at the crack of dawn for some reason, it isn't a problem, but I prefer 9am

I get up at a reasonable time, even now that I'm no longer in work, about 8 am and I go to bed late, past midnight, 8 hrs are more than enough. But I' don't like talking or even listening to TV until at least after my second coffee...

I have always been a morning person as when working when children where all at home I had to have them sorted and out the door by 8am so I was always up and about from 6-30am,hubby always worked 3 shift system so he was coming and going at all different hours (he kept better hours than a burgular) now even though back at work I really don't have to get up any earlier than 7.30 so I have plenty of time to come around after a few cuppa's and shower before leaving for the shop at 9-25,I am lucky that I work 5 mins from home so travel is not a problem.
