    A Challenge.

I have been asked by DD1 to make a Hallowe'en fancy dress costume for 8 year old GD and her pony. He is a very good tempered horse, he had been used in a riding school for years and DD says he will tolerate most things. I have scoured Pinterest and other sites, not much there though.
    Any good ideas please?

As you might know I love all things arty. This was head scratching.... A costume for a horse! Went onto Google images after typing in 'Halloween costume for a horse'. Good luck with the dragon costumeπŸ˜‚

Ha ha ha Nana!!! It's that or paint a skeleton on the poor thing. I did wonder about making a 'broom' blanket for him and a witch costume for her.
DD2 suggested a headless rider which, given her behaviour yesterday would be easy to arrange.....πŸ˜‚

Grauntie, that's exactly what I would suggest, witch on broomstick!
That, or GD a pumpkin, and horse pumpkin leaves or smaller pumpkins (on his saddle) for a pumpkin patch.

Nothing to offer I am afraid, I was always rubbish at making costumes, not too bad if I had a pattern.

I'm hoping to persuade her towards the witch on a broomstick as I have two wizards cloaks in the dressing up box which would do quite nicely. I think I can fashion a besom from twigs and fairy lights and the hat will be easy. She has a toy cat which will go between the horses ears. I did think it might be good to do 'Room on the Broom' but not sure how many people will know the book.

GM, last year Room on the Broom was the winning entry for our village Scarecrow competition. I say go for it!

                  Oh I will Nana.
Gemini I will try to persuade J. I think it's the best idea.
