Vintage Clothes

I'm looking for advice, please, ladies.

I've got a dustbin bag full of vintage clothes from the mid-60s to early 70s and don't know what to do with them. Some of the items are hand-made, some are shop-bought. I think the best is a Mary Quant Ginger Group jumpsuit, sheer black fabric with a swirly devoree (sp?) pattern.

There are men's and women's things. Most are in good condition - just need washing and ironing/dry cleaning because they've got a bit crumpled.

Any ideas are welcome.

Yes find a Vintage clothes shop they will love them , the ones they don't want put on ebay ,

Just curious Daisy. Are the clothes yours? I don’t want to insult you but I know you’ve been having a sort out and I know I have a few vintage( or perhaps in my case old- fashioned) things in my wardrobe.

Daisy how exciting Ebay would put me off as who ever bought may find fault however good condition and you could end up refunding,I would find a good vintage shop or contact BBC costume designers and see if they are interested when my DD was at college she was doing some training with them for copying 50/60s fashions all tied up with series they where filming.

Clover - yes they are mostly mine, a few are OH's. They're from the days of our misspent youth when we played in bands, plus there's my going-away outfit from 1967 - a bright pink dress and coat and a few other bits and pieces. In those days bands dressed up, not like today's who seem to wear everyday clothes on stage! I agree - the other word for them is old-fashioned, but I think genuine 60s/70s things are quite popular. And I'm certainly not insulted!

Glamma - that's a good point about Ebay. I'm sure I can find a vintage shop somewhere, but I hadn't thought about the BBC!

My DIL2 is keen to model them, so we might take some photos. Sadly I'm about 1 1/2 stone heavier than I was then!

Sorry I can't offer any suggestions but if they were mine I'd look to more specialised places. Buyers on eBay & the like don't want to pay much for anything now.
