By that I mean, when their parents are working.
I'm just being nosey
Are they with other grandparents or family members, at nursery, childminders, or with a family friend? Or are they with you whenever the parents work?
My GD and little brother, GS2, have one day a week with me, one with their other grandparents. As DD works part time in their own business she can work it so she can be at school for GD on the other 3 days, so no after school care needed. Baby GS goes to nursery 2 half days a week, and sometimes a full day if she is really busy. The other gran and I get on well, and will fill in for each other for holidays, appointments etc, if we are able (harder for me as I have other GC duties, plus my mum)
GS1 has a day with me each week. Now he has started school that is just after school during term time.
His other grandma lives too far away to help. Now he is too old for nursery, there is no one to care for him regularly in the holidays apart from me. DD2 helps when she can and one of DD1's friends, a lovely laid back mum and foster carer, helps too, so there is other help.
DD1's boss has allowed her to adjust her working hours so that she can have most of the school holidays off. She works a full day on the day that I have GS.
Both daughters are very considerate of me, and don't ask more of me than I can do. One day a week for each set is enough to be honest, bearing in mind I do a lot for my mother as well. I do stand in and do extra days when needed, but it is rare, and DD2 in particular is likely to book them into nursery or Holiday Club rather than ask either set of grandparents for more help.
