    Just Me & Baby Girl

On Thursday I am having sole charge of my GGD who is now 19mths old,her mummy is not very well with carrying the new baby and DD usually has her on Thursdays to give mum some respite but DD is working that day so I offered to have her the offer was accepted and I am over the moon with excitement, this is the first time I have had her for the day all on my own.
I am going to drop my car off at their house and go on the train to Liverpool for a brouse of the Museum they have a display of dinassaurs and exotic spider's which she loves (urrh) then we will go for lunch some where in Town.
Return on the train to New Brighton to the soft ball park then walk up home in time for tea and bath before hubby takes us back to collect my car.(I don't have car seat fitted in mine so need service of grandpa)
I will expect a night up on the sofa will follow but just can't wait I think a little lady may get some special treats somehow don't you.

Sounds like a great day out! I used to take GSs on the bus to the tram then return by train. Great novelty for them though GS2 didn’t know why all the other people were on his bus!
          xx

Lol Glam I don’t think I will ever see the day I will push my great grandchild out , now I don’t know how old you are but my eldest is 7 which means I will be 84 if she has a baby at 20 and that these days is early just hope I am around for a cuddle 🙂

My GD was born when I was 55 Qwerty. If she waits until her 30s to start a family, as her mum and auntie did, I will be 85 plus! I think several of us here will not become great grandmas, but you never know!

Glamm - how lovely. I'm sure you will both have a fabulous day. Your plans reminded me of the first time I took 2 of my nieces into Liverpool on the train (from Rock Ferry). I explained about the train going under the River, and when we got off one niece was very puzzled because the train's wheels weren't wet!

I doubt I will ever make it to great grandma either. If my eldest GS becomes a dad at 20 (very unlikely) I will be 80, if my eldest GD became a mum at 20 I would be 87! Best make the most of the GCs I think.

Have a lovely day Glamm, I am a bit over the hill to feel happy looking after GGS, especially taking him out. My GS will be thirty in December, the father of my GGS.

Glamm your plans sound lovely. She will love spending time with you and at the end of the day I would expect you will both be more than ready for bedtime

Qwerty I was young when I had DD (21 in fact) and she had DGS2 when she was the same age (not something we where pleased about but hey-ho) so I was just over 41 when we had 1st DGS and they and their brothers have kept me young ever since I think, they are great boys.
Going on the train is easy now according to DD there is a pram lift either side of the station so I can take the big pram and not the fold up type thing they use its too low for me I need the higher handle height to feel comfy.
I have all ready the little collection of toys in the red box for her waiting in the shed and have knitted a new hat and booties for her dolly.
Small packet of dolly mixtures hidden away for special treat but we will not tell mummy, naughty nana xx
Qwerty forgot to answer your question about how old I was it was my 67th bday this last September so creeping upwards to the next milestone xx

Glamma, if DD1 started her family as young as I did (21, like you) she would have a 20 year old now, so I could feasibly be a GG! As her son is just 5, she waited a lot longer!

It's funny how some families seem to have the next generation quite early. We were a bit slow off the mark! I was just 29 when I had DS1, he was 30 when he become a dad, and DS2 was 35!

Glamm - you are going to have such a good time! The pram lift sounds absolutely brilliant - those steps were killers!
