Good afternoon from a grey Bucks! Been out for breakfast with DD at a local garden centre. It was very quiet when we arrived but had filled up by the time we left. I had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup and she had bubble and squeak with bacon and a poached egg. We both enjoyed our meals. I bought myself a beautiful pale pink cyclamen just to cheer me up. This greyness is really getting me down this year. Then it was on to the car wash followed by M&S. It had turned chilly so we didn't bother having a wander and she brought me home.

She's off to Birmingham for her company conference later and tomorrow she'll be giving a presentation to several hundred employees! She's starting to stress about it, but I'm sure she'll be fine.

I started chair pilates last week and was pleased that I managed to do most of the exercises without too much pain! It felt good to be doing something different from walking. Physio on Friday and she gave me another couple of exercises involving more muscles! Bit of massage on my tight thigh muscles which is sore at the time, but it feels so much better afterwards. No pain, no gain as they say. I was saying to DD earlier, that today it's my knee that's feeling uncomfortable, not my thigh! Discomfort seems to move around from one day to the next.

Started back at art last week too. Again it was good to get back to normality! GS commented on my 'gallery' that it was my bird wall and I do have several drawings of birds there, so I thought I'd do a couple more. This new work is of a blue jay, but by the time I'd gridded it out and got the outline done, it was more or less time to pack up! I've decided to get my sketch book out and draw something everyday even if it's just a teacup. Hopefully it'll develop my observation skills....well I can hope!

Also got back to reading at school which is lovely. This term I have a group of 5 girls who are all little sweeties! Plant, I don't know what the problem was in your village last Monday, but parking spaces were non existent! Hopefully it'll be easier this Monday!

Hope that everyone is well and that you have a good afternoon! Take care xx

Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Hallo everyone, I a still not from the fever off, if it is the same tomorrow I will phone the surgery, it isn't really high, but , not as it should be. I have been out though to a Sunday morning concert in a lovely theatre in Rotterdam, we have had the tickets a few months, one of the men where I do coffee arranges everything for the local Shanty choir, a few of my friends sing in at as well, so 4 of us went this morning, we really enjoyed it. We were back in the village at 1pm.

Gem, I saw a small boy the other day with specs on, he had something fitted to the arm so it stayed behind his ear.

It is cold here, at least the mist has almost gone.

Daisy, hope GD is having a lovely birthday.

        Plant,glad the car is sorted.

WeeGranny, the bubble and squeak with bacon and poached egg would have been my choice.
I'm not fond of maple syrup.

Oma, i've noticed that a lot of ours and your meals are very similar.

Gem, i like that little E does his maintenance on his glasses.

        Lizzie,hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like you had a lovely morning though,
Do you not fancy joining the choir?

It is grey out isn't it , I said to B this morning everything looks dull and dirty,
          Breakfast sounds lovely ,
I like pancakes with bacon and maple syrup too.

I'm sure once your DD gets in the flow she will be fine, it's the build up isn't it.
My DD always says once she starts talking she forgets her nerves.

Sounds like your getting back to normal with all your art, reading etc.

          Daisy

Oma, it wasn't a bug but a plant, and, it is an all mens choir! The lady I went with is a member of 3 0r 4 choirs, not for me though.

WG, I have just read your post, your hip seems to be healing well, is it with walking different that your knee hurts?

I don't know about in the UK but here yesterday was officially named the most depressing day of the year.

Lizzie, January is a depressing month generally isn't it?!
I hope you feel better tomorrow, these things take a while often.

WG, you are doing well. I remember how good it felt to get back to my normal routines after my knee.

Oma I agree things hurt more in cold weather and my knee joint although it doesn't hurt feels weird in the cold.

We have had a lazy day today.

We're back home. It's been a long, busy day, but very nice. We're both exhausted, though. I think the cold weather drains you (well, that's my excuse!). OH has an eye injection first thing tomorrow morning, but I'll try and catch up sometime after we get home.

Everything seems to happen at once.

Good morning. Hope the cute graphic cheers you all up.
Just having my second cuppa of the morning.

Wee Granny, I'm sure you're DD will do OK with her presentation.

Lizzie, hope you feel better today.

Daisy, hope OH's appointment goes OK.

No plans for us today, just see how the day goes.

Homemade meat and potato pie for dinner. Took it out of the freezer yesterday.

                    Morning Nanto/ladies

It's cold out , went out to put stuff in recycle bin the cold hit me and I had my coat on.
Nothing planned today, I was up very early so everything done ,
One of those restless nights B got up at 4.30 I hung on till 5 then thought no point just laying here ,

Just been reading the news between trump and all the wars it's miserable reading ,
Although the Gazza hostage releases is better news .
Good for some but I bet there are lots that have had hope and find the loved ones are not amongst them.
                    So sad .

                      Good morning everybody.

That is indeed a nice cheery graphic for a cold January morning Nan2

Daisy I'm sure going to the eye appointment is what neither of you need after a tiring day. I hope all goes smoothly.

Aquafit this morning then a massage at 12.30. It was moved from Wednesday afternoon as my therapist has a hospital appointment on Wednesday. It won't be worth me coming home from the pool, so I will have coffee then head off for my appointment.

                      Have a good week everyone.

Nanto, thank you for that cup of cute cheerfulness. I could have done justice to that meat and potato pie today! Did you enjoy it?

Gem, A busy but healthy and relaxing morning with aqua and a massage.

Oma, it's that sort of cold that chills you to the bone. There's not much to make you feel happy in the news, I agree.

The trip to the hospital wasn't great. It took us an hour to get there - just volume of traffic - and had to circle two car parks to find somewhere to park which was quite a way from the Eye Department. The hospital is on a hill, and it was freezing cold, and not much warmer inside! It was chaos today, and slow at every stage. Then another slow, tedious journey home. It was the sort of journey where every single traffic light is on red! We finally got home just before 1 o'clock. We'd left home at 8.30, so were worried about Evas well. Our neighbour who has a key and would go and take her round to hers is away.

Poor OH's eye is very sore, and we were both so cold. I made soup and toasted cheese for lunch and even with the heating on and two jumpers I'm still shivery.

Sorry, I must stop moaning, but I do hate the cold.

Sorry OH's eye is so sore.
I think sometimes you get so cold, you just can't get warm through.
Both of us enjoyed our meat and potato pie. We had a pile of savoy cabbage with it.

Gem, hope you enjoyed aquafit and massage.

We have had/got rain today. Its a while since we had any.

Daisy, that sounds like a dreadful trip and OH has to suffer with a very sore eye. Poor Eva too, I bet she missed you.

Gemini, you must feel very relaxed after swimming and massage.

Oma, the news is miserable reading and frightening. Those poor families returning to their bombed buildings. As for America with Trump claiming everything her can get his hands on.

Nanto, I have never had meat and potato pie, sounds tasty and filling on a cold day.

Wee Granny. I hope your DD’s presentation went well. You are slowly getting back to your activities, I am sure the children will be pleased to have you back.

H still isn’t 100%, she didn’t want to go to her swimming class which is one of her favourite activities.

Moan away Daisy! This dull cold weather is so miserable, and your morning gave you plenty to moan about

Nan2, my mum used to make meat and potato pie when I was a child and I loved it.

Poor little H Plant, I hope she's better soon. GS3 has a cold. Runny nose and eyes, but seems cheerful enough.

I did my class, had coffee with my 3 friends then off for my massage. There were some extremely sore areas, so I needed it.
I couldn't get into aquafit for Wednesday, so I'm crossing my fingers for a cancellation place

OH and I have been Netflix watching this afternoon.
                              It's very cold!

Gem, Netflix watching is a good way to pass a winter afternoon.

Plant, hope H is better soon.

Daisy, how is OH this morning.

I've been awake most of the night so I'm only doing a bit of tidying round while hubby is out for a couple of hours this morning.

Dinner is chips, peas and egg.

Don't know what the weather forecast is, but it certainly felt cold when I got out of bed.
