Good morning everyone. My phone says it's 23C here at the moment, set to rise to 26 by mid-day.

Lizzie - I can imagine how your GD must have been feeling thinking the bike might have already been sold.

Nanto - our dentist sent an email saying they aren't going to change their current anti-Covid routines yet, which I'm sure is sensible.

Plant - it must be strange with no-one else around. I throw a couple of buckets of water on the green house floor when it gets too hot - it just takes the edge off and keeps up the humidity. I hope the trip to the dentist goes well.

Gem - yes, we did all enjoy our little (distanced) get together. I'm sure GS1 will be fine and enjoy some time with you. I'm glad he'll be ok for the last few days at school. I can understand why the Mediterranean diet includes a lot of salads - nobody wants to spend time in the kitchen cooking in this weather! I think we'll have a prawn salad for dinner tonight.

No plans for us today. OH thought he might get up early to do some wood turning before it got hot but he was so late coming to bed he didn't wake up!

Went to Tesco this morning and got conned into visiting the car showroom
I hate looking at cars but his excuse was well we passing so we may as well call in .

I'm going to put the sprinkler on for GS to run under later. He loves that even more than the pool.

Annoyingly, this weather changes to cool and wet on Saturday - the day we booked ages ago for an extended family day out.

All i've done since i came home from in laws,is make us something to eat.
Unloaded the dishwasher, we have sat in a shady spot and had tea and cake.
I've just sliced up some strawberries for tonight.

I've done a bit of online shopping - GS1's 18th birthday present. I tried to order some suncream on another site, but annoyingly, it was 'down'. They don't seem to have the brand we use in Sainsbury's any more. Other than that, it's another lazy day.

Gem - I hope S is ok out on the golf course in this heat - it's 26 here as well.

Oma - apart from car shopping is so boring, I wouldn't want to be in a car showroom in this weather.

Daisy, it is very strange being on my own and I am sleeping okay Oma. I have been invited to supper at DS and Dil’s on Thurs. so I will stay the night. No treatment at dentist yet, quite a lot to be carriers out so she going to send me an estimate as there are several options. Sounds very expensive. Called for lunch after dentist, treated myself. I also bought 3 tops and a pair of slipper type shoes to wear indoors. Tomorrow I have a date with my WI friends, we are having tea at the local golf course. Really looking forward to that.

I bet your GD was so pleased with her bicycle Lizzie. GM’s are entitled to spoil GC

Oma, has B got his eye on a car he would like to buy.

Plant he was looking at a VW Di 3 & 4 nice cars but I cant get enthusiastic about cars ,
I like the one we have but looking around showrooms isn't my idea of fun .

I did warn him the last time I wasn't doing it again , we looked at dozens and I couldn't remember one from the other .
I tend to pick the colour once he has decided though .

Daisy the showroom was quite cool actually if it had been hot i would have dragged him out sooner

Not done much this afternoon its so stuffy , I changed into my PJ's about a hour ago they cooler .

I have just taken the opportunity to clean the insides of the downstairs windows while its cooling down and the sun is off them ,
I was going to do them in morning but its forecast another hot day ,

Got to get jobs done when it cools don't you

Oma - I must confess - when it's this hot I think the housework can wait. I'm either 'on holiday' at home, or just giving myself a day off! A couple of restaurants in Wales closed because of the heat and gave the staff the day off. I'm giving myself a day off.

I hope B soon find the car of his dreams so you don't have to traipse round too many showrooms.

Plant - it must seem quiet without the family around, but I'm glad you're sleeping ok. Enjoy meeting your WI friends tomorrow. I'm afraid the dental treatment sounds likely to be expensive.

I did a load of washing this afternoon and it dried in about an hour. Of course, I can't iron it until I've got a new iron. DIL1 has lent me one, which is so, so kind of her, but it's very heavy and makes my shoulder ache. So I have a good reason not to tackle the rapidly growing pile at the moment.

I have ordered a new iron online and, finally, a new kettle. We won't know ourselves, all these new gadgets.

Cloudy this this morning,which is making it feel a bit cooler.
Just seen the local weather on tv and she says the sun will develop.
There could be one or two thunderstorms throughout the day.

A family meal was planned for next Friday, but this has changed now,to Friday of this week.
Due to all the different work shifts for everybody,we will be going in the afternoon.

Oma, my worst nightmare is going round car showrooms.

WI meeting this morning at the local golf course, we are unable to meet in our usual hall yet. The speaker is going to talk about The Flying Doctor of Australia. It will be lovely to see everyone. Just had a message from GD1 she wants me to pick her up later if I am free, of course I am free. Not a good night, it was so hot.
