It's still sunny here, and not quite so cold, but still frosty at night. But it's dried several loads of washing, including a heavy mattress protector. What's more (I hope Oma is sitting down reading this!) all but the last few bits are ironed.

Enfys - I hope your second jab went ok and you don't get any side effects. xx

I have been at DS2 most of the day, helping DIL in the garden, she wanted a herb garden but built high, I saw something on our Facebook marketplace, I was telling her about it and DS2 went to pick it up, it is really handy and fits perfectly where she wanted it. She wanted some more soil but the garden centre was fully booked so will have to go next week.

It has been lovely and warm all day, cooler now but sunny. GD1 phoned whilst I was there to see if I was going cycling with her, I told her tomorrow!

I am having trouble with site, very slow at the moment. Nanto, yes, the plant is healthy, I hope it stays that way now it has been moved. I have sold a few over they years when they get too big for in here!

Oma, I like your tiles, they will be easy to clean.

DS2 has almost got the studio finished, he has got all the equipment etc in, now he has to sort all the wires , cables etc out.

Gem, I hope you got to cleaning at your mum's house.

Enfys, I hope you have no side effects from your jab today.
Lizzie, no cleaning at mum's as I went to DD1's!

OH and SIL have worked SO hard today in hot sunshine. All the decking is up. Now we have to source a man and van to transport the decking we need and DD has to find a builder to make nice new patio.
I had nice time relaxing and chatting with DD and we took GS to the local park when she went to the shops.
OH is now relaxing in the bath with nice cup of tea!

Lizzie, love the little herb garden you and DIL did.

We both enjoyed our day in Wakefield. The sun was quite warm.
Lovely to see all the shops open. Plenty of people out shopping.
After we had parked up,we walked to our favourite cafe and had coffee outside.
Later,we went back to the same cafe for dinner, and managed to get a table in the sun.

Haha, Oma - giving you a run for your money, my friend. What's more, I even ironed the last few bits and pieces.

Lizzie - I love the herb garden - and it doesn't take up too much space. Perfect - you can't beat fresh herbs.

Nanto - glad you had a good day shopping and enjoying the sunshine. How lovely relaxing over dinner in the sun. Is life starting to feel more like it used to before the pandemic?

Gem - your OH and SIL have worked hard to get all that patio taken up. Are you able to use part of it in your garden? I think after all that S has earned more than a cup of tea!

I met up with our new neighbour for a dog walk this morning, which was lovely. We let the two dogs off lead in their back garden, and when Eva had finished having a zoomie they pretty much just snuffled around in the undergrowth, not taking much notice of each other. This is great, because we really want the two dogs to be friends and we hope getting to know each other gradually will help.

Then I started on a busy day of domestic drudgery! Washing, ironing, cleaning, cooking, and changing beds. Why do I do it!!! I'm ready for bed now. <Sigh> I remember the days when I'd be going out to paint the town red on a Saturday evening!

Daisy, after her bath and cuppa, OH had a glass or two of wine, and I even cooked although it was her turn 😊 She deserved a rest!

Nan2 that sounds a nice day.

Nanto, are all the shops open now in the towns? DIL has to go for more compost today for the bottom layer of the garden stand, it is larger then she thought!

Daisy, it is nice that you have a dog walking neighbour.

My friend has cats, she was emptying the tray yesterday, walking back into the house she tripped, how she did it she doesn't know but she cut her hand open on the edge of the tray, she said it really shook her and she sat for a full hour to relax, she then decided she would have to go to the doctors post at the hospital, she phoned a friend and she took her, she had to have 5 stitches. She was still feeling groggy last night.

Gem, are you having the decking now?

                                Good morning all.

                                Enjoy the family dinner Nan2!

                                Oh your poor friend Lizzie.
It's funny about the decking. For a while OH and I have had a plan to deck the patio area at the back of the house which the conservatory door opens onto. We want to cover the paved area and slightly further onto the lawn. When we saw the estate agents photos of DD1's new house before they moved in, we were in admiration of their decking. However, once they moved in they discovered the standing water in the garden at that time was beneath the decking too and it smelled awful. That and the fact that they didn't want the work of maintaining decking year to year meant they wanted rid of it! It is fairly new (the previous owners pride and joy!) so OH had her eye on it.
She knew there was no one else to help with the task . SIL's dad lives in Scotland and they are not close anyway. DD's dad is too unreliable. So OH offered and it was gladly received. SIL has worked hard, but wouldn't know where to begin on his own and followed OH's guidance all the way through the project. Their deck was a lot bigger than we want, so we won't be taking all the boards and surrounds. DD wants raised beds made of some of the remaining ones. So nothing will be wasted We just have or work out how to get them here!

We are having a socially distanced garden gathering this afternoon 3 friends are coming round. I may make some buns!

                                Have a good Sunday everyone.
