Good morning ladies.
Amazing conker Lizzie, quads! You can relax about the pain and it will hopefully gradually disappear.
Raining here as well Nan2.
Today is my GD's birthday. Hard to believe that she is 11. It was her arrival which brought me to my first grandma forum.
Due to the damned Rule of Six, we and SIL's parents have a rota to see her today. We all get on very well and love to be all together at DD's. We will go straight after school, then they will come at around 6 and we will leave. It will be lovely to see her on her birthday though. She is having sleepover for 3 friends tomorrow as her main celebration.
OH's golf today is off as the course is waterlogged. We need a couple of things from Sainsbury's and I want balloon for GD so we will go out.
Have a good day everyone.āA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.ā ā Unknown

Good morning, on a blustery dull day!
Gem - I'm glad you enjoyed your day out and look forward to reading about it. Have a lovely time with your GD. It must be hard to realise she's all but a young woman all ready. I hope she has a lovely day.
Lizzie - photo books are such a lovely idea. I've done a few for special events and they are fun to do but can take ages! I've never seen a conker like that before! I'll have to go on the hunt for some sweet chestnuts - it's about the right time.
Nanto - your friend in the graphic will catch her death of cold in that flimsy dress in this weather.
I'm having one of those weeks when I don't know what day it is. Yesterday it could have been any day - probably Thursday. Today feels like Saturday, no idea why. Goodness knows what tomorrow will be!
Have a good day, everyone, whatever the weather is throwing at us.

Oma, Your GS has expensive taste, I know you like to spoil him, he is worth it. I have bought clothes from Sainburys,, I bought a white cardigan last year, looked everywhere and found one there.
It was such a gorgeous day yesterday, the garden won over the bathroom cleaning. I spent some time out there, planted some bulbs and cut back the buddleia. The bathrooms might get done today if nothing else crops up.
Amazing conker Lizzie. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Daisy, albums are a LOT of work!!! Strange enough I enjoy making them. The conker was so unusual, it is a few years ago now, in fact they got rid of the tree the same year.
Oma, yes, nature is wonderful! With sorting the photo's out I discovered it again.
I haven't been out as it is raining, yet again, yesterday only a few slight showers, I did call at the cycle shop on the way home from the doctor as I wanted new pedals on my village bike, when I was picking brambles and the ground was damp I felt my feet slipping off the pedals, forgot about it then it happened on Monday so thought I had better get new ones, they weren't as expensive as I imagined them to be and the man fitted them for me.
Gem, the children grow so fast, I am sorting through the photo's and I do wonder where the years have gone!

Take it easy the rest of the day Plant
Oma, GS's choice for tea sounds lovely. I can't eat beef but it doesn't stop me longing for a steak sometimes!
They sound very helpful at your cycle shop Lizzie.
Daisy, I'm often unsure what day it is!
We went to Sainsburys for Vitamin D, hair colour and a few other things. We went to local card shop for a birthday balloon for GD. I chose a multicoloured star shaped Happy Birthday one. I have bought each grandchild a helium balloon on their birthdays since GD's first birthday. Not sure when I will stop doing it!
Off to DD2's later for birthday cakeāA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.ā ā Unknown

Busy morning for me , Hubby had reoiled the oak floor in the snug, so it was time to put back the furniture, ornaments, rug etc ., cleaning everything we put back and polishing the wooden furniture. Sorting my sewing corner too. Then I cleaned the brasses and copper warming pan ...... the grandfather clock is now ticking away nicely- I missed it chiming during the night! The floor looks great. Weāve now done the two easy rooms next is the living room and hall. Problem is you have to do two coats and it takes a good couple of hours to dry, during which time you canāt walk on it. The furniture in the living room is too heavy to move far and you canāt drag it as it will scratch the floor so it will take several days to do it in sections! Off to vet this afternoon to collect dogās medicine.Grandmothers are just antique little girls - author unknown

Plant - good to know you're open for visitors now your bathrooms are cleaned.I agree - I'd choose garden over bathroom cleaning any day, and you've reminded me I need to cut back our Buddleias.
Avo - I bet your floor looks amazing, but it certainly is hard work, as well as cleaning brass and copper. I hope your little doggie is ok.
Oma - if we come back in another life, can I be your GS1 please? He's a very lucky lad. I hope you enjoyed your beans on toast! Mind you, I've just been portioning up dog food - venison, lamb, turkey, beef, oily fish - and earlier on I slow-cooked 1 kg of lamb liver to cut up for treats for her! We had a vegetable stir fry!!!
Gem - it must be awful if you can smell beef cooking and can't have it.
Lizzie - how are you getting on with your photos? Sometimes it's hard to choose what to put in and what to leave out!
Nanto - have you got your wrapping paper and cards yet?xx
Balloons aren't my favourite thing. I'm on edge all the time expecting them to burst.
One of the things that attracted me to our house was how nice a light it is, with nice large windows. Great until you come to clean them. I spent all morning cleaning windows (inside) and window frames, and I haven't finished. Thank goodness for the Karcher thingy! This afternoon I cleaned the living room and hallway. Eva is still moulting - she'll be bald at this rate and the sucky up thing will be going on strike! Then tonight I prepped dog food. I'm shattered!
Night, night everyone.

Good morning, I am getting on with the photo's Daisy, will have to have a second sort though, I have made them albums each year so don't want to do the same photo's. I was getting upset yesterday doing them, I have done so much with them over the years and all the memories came flooding back, then, I got annoyed with myself and told myself I have been very lucky to have done all I have with them and make the memories. It must be my age!! I don't mind doing windows, I have huge windows as well but love it when they are done, I did them not long ago and it has rained ever since! It doesn't often rain on the windows though with having the balcony covered. Your dog food sounds like a family week menu!!!
Avo, that is a lot of work to do the floors, you will be pleased when it is all finished.
Nan to, you are well organised with your presents etc.
It is dry here after raining all day yesterday, a few showers expected later, I have been to the gym and want to go to next village to pick somethings I ordered from Holland and Barrett for GD1's birthday, almost 15 years old!!! DS2 and partner are eating here tonight so got to do some shopping for that.
