I have noticed recently when I am in town at tube stations, which are generally quite busy, that I feel wobbly if I do not have a handrail to hold onto and I am only 60! I felt quite decrepit the other day when I was with a young colleague (my apprentice) and I had to take his arm when I was in the middle of crowd going down tube steps. Bless him he grabbed my hand and said "come on mum" no one would ever mistake me for his mum as he is Asian.

Aww, Zizi, that was kind of him
I am careful going down stairs and steps, and in town, where there are many uneven paving stones. I don't care if it makes me look like an old lady, it's better than falling!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

That's all right Zizi and Gem I never go down stairs without holding on to the handrail. At home I've taken to ride MIL's stairlift, just as well considering the prohibitive price! My OH is now telling me that my step is all wrong, apparently I put the ball of the foot down first rather than the heel? So I'm trying to walk heel first...A day without wine is like a day without sunshine....
