Half term plans?

Well apart from Monday we have had a child and dog free week DD took days off so not needed this week , although GS1 does his own thing anyway at his age ,
Monday apart from getting his teeth cleaned he just slobbed around all day didn't even get dressed , but he did have football matches all weekend 1 on Friday night .1 Saturday Morning, and 2 on Sunday so his legs were aching .

Much patience is needed by the sound of it Daisy. Have you tried teaching GD to knit or sew, even sewing lovely colored buttons on to a piece of cloth. The winter months are hard to occupy children when they are young and you don't want them to just sit and watch television. My eldest GS used to love the Argos catalogue and he had a garage that had a lift to park the cars on the top level.

Plant - thanks for the suggestions. The other gran is brilliant at sewing and she is teaching her to use her sewing machine - which GD is really enjoying, and I think she will teach her to knit. I had thought about it but GD1 is left-handed and so is her other gran, so it might be confusing me teaching her right-handed. What do you think? Her own mum does lots of art work with her. I've been helping her with her music lessons, but now she's in junior school she needs her own keyboard to practice on, and they've got nowhere at all to put even a small one. We've got one of those garages with a lift up and a sort of helter skelter down and GD2 loves it!

Qwerty - no wonder you're jiggered! To say nothing of your poor feet aching. You've hit the nail on the head - it's all the multi-tasking and (for me) that constant feeling of never quite keeping on top of everything. You're trying to say get a meal ready but everyone wants your attention for some reason or other. I end up with my head spinning!

But, it's back to school/playgroup/nursery next week, so only our normal child care jobs to do!
