I was driving both GDs back to their home last night, and GD2 was chatting. She was telling me about how one girl had been nasty to her, then started to be nice to GD and nasty to another girl. GD2 found this irrational and confusing - how could someone behave like that she asked.

Without waiting for an answer, she went on, "If you throw a plate on the floor and smash it up all in little bits, and then say sorry to it, it's still broken and smashed up, isn't it!"
